Hospital Tour

Yesterday I rushed out of the house in an attempt to make it on time to a hospital tour. I was late, but I made it.

The tour covered triage, labor and delivery and recovery. We also saw the nursery, the pantry and the general area where they perform C-sections. It’s all located on one floor for convenience. The tour guide talked about numerous things but one thing that stood out me was the discussion of baby tethers. Apparently in addition to wrist bands infants are given tethers that will sound an alarm if you pass a certain point. I don’t know if I feel relieved or worried about this.

Other things I learned:

1) You get a free booger sucker. Yay!

2) Anything that isn’t washable like liners you can take with you because the hospital will throw them away regardless if the liners haven’t been used.  Don’t know if that’s 100% true.

3)They are remodeling to make rooms larger and update furniture.

4) The typical stay for vaginal delivery is 48hrs and 72hrs for C-section.
